After receiving authorization and funding through Ordinance 201080, the Barney Allis Redevelopment project has restarted to advance the efforts related to the Barney Allis Plaza and Garage (Auditorium Parking Garage).
From now until fall 2021, the project team is working on the initial schematic design, financing solutions, and exploring commercial real estate options. This work sets the stage for the City to accommodate potential future development.
The City is prioritizing the Barney Allis Redevelopment project for federal funding considerations, because of the potential opportunity to leverage needed improvements on the Auditorium Parking Garage combined with other ideas previously voiced by council members, community leaders and stakeholders. The intent is to preserve green space and highlight programmable space for events and public activation, which reinforces public feedback received thus far.
